Example 5:

Team Coaching Program

Inefficient team meetings no more

Background

The client was a leadership team that had worked together for 8 years. Their weekly meetings were becoming increasingly frustrating, inefficient and lacking focus.

Solution

Initial interviews with each of the leaders were conducted to get an understanding of what is happening on the team and what is needed so they can be a high-functioning leadership team. These were followed up with a 2-day ‘deep-dive’ offsite where exercises were designed to help the team answer two main questions:

1.    How do we move in the direction of being a better team?

2.   How do we identify our priorities and discuss them efficiently?

Impact

As a direct result of the increased trust that emerged following the event, the CEO gave his executives more scope to lead independently, and the team renegotiated how they communicated, particularly the management of their weekly meetings. In the following months, the organisation saw a significant improvement in their communication strategy, with the team reporting a renewed sense of direction and purpose.
